Can't return to Trials of Sekhemas through portal. (PS5)

Not sure if it's intended or a bug, but although I can use the portal to return to Trials of Chaos from town, I can't use the portal to return to Trials of Sekhemas. Instead, I have to use the map, interact with the altar in Balbala's room and interact with the altar in another room to resume my progress, which is time consuming and unnecessary.
