Ping issues
I know, we've all had connection issues before. My question is why is my ping lower connecting to the DC server rather than the California when I'm in LA server? Before PoE2 went live, I use to have a 6-20 ping here. Now it's in the 100's and the DC is 30-40. Also, The Texas server has had a ? listed there for way over a month.
I know it's not my location or Laptop as I travel on the west cost for work and DC always has the lowest ping. Even when I'm home on my gaming pc in Phoenix playing on fiber, DC way is still better than California. Last bumped on May 18, 2025, 2:48:14 PM

"It's likely a pathing or mid-route issue if it's consistent across all instances you join on the California location but is a lot better on another server location. When your ping to California is high, do this test outlined in this GGG post. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1377789 MSI X870E Carbon WiFi, 9950X3D, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX 24GB

Open your client logs (located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\logs\Client.txt" by default)
It wont open in either notepad or word. Just says not responding. Maybe because its 228 mb? never seen a notepad file that big before. Last edited by IQof3#7253 on May 18, 2025, 12:42:30 PM

"If you're trying to open the client.txt file and it's not responding, the file size might be very large. Delete the client.txt file. The next time you launch the game the game will rebuild the file. This makes it easier to get the instance IP also. Just make sure you test this when the ping issues are happening. MSI X870E Carbon WiFi, 9950X3D, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX 24GB

yeah I did that. The weird thing is, since I deleted that and it created a new one, my ping is back at 14 here in LA.....that can't be a coincidence. Now the Texas server has a ping showing instead of a ? too.
