Is Lightning Spear / Tangletongue getting nerfgunned next update?

I really thing LIGHTNING in general is the issue. Almost every time something breaks chained or forked lightning is involved. Why? Cause it is a homing missile thing. The fact lightning selects and find targets even around corners is ABSURDLY powerful . ALl chained and forked lightning should be by mechanics, half the damage. That would prevent other problems.
It's gonna be fine. Just look at patch 0.1 and 0.2, we can predict the future of the next patch.

Lightning is an absurdly easy mechanic in this game and there's even the loop hole of having 60-70 odd intelligence or something and taking a low level lightning warp on your toon to cull one enemy into a massive spreading 10 second shocked ground, no spell damage or amps required.

I'd like GGG to be more thoughtful but I dunno, we really need the other weapon tree's that are missing to see the full picture of diversity and I think that should be the full on priority vs strictly one class and one weapon type toons.
Most high probally yes, the issue is they will continue to intro the remaining class and with each introduction there will be changes that will be affecting builds.

Changes like addition of passive skill tree, class speciality/assendacy and maybe new weapon type stats will affect current build just like previous version

But no worries since every new league there will be player discovering a new meta.

The one thing that GGG should not touch is the huge change to anything such as increasing difficulty, game speed, drop rate or etc. Its when GGg touch those QoL stuff they hurt the game and their player base indirectly
Maintain the current (OP) standards of lightning but bump up the other elemental damages?

Lightning can bounce off walls in classic DnD too.

(recalls the horror of lightning bolt cast by mages in BG1...insta-kamikaze kill in narrow dungeon corrridors)

also the roah mount probably, too op
zero chance it gets nerfed maybe rhoa but rhoa is pretty good you get dismounted pretty consistantly too many people upset that others will do marginally better than them. There's many builds way better than LS and can boss easily if you go through discord and reddit a majority of LS players are struggling with survivability and being able to kill bosses without spending 50+ divs. The people who spend cash for their build do not count or the people who use an OP boss build to get the sceptre don't count as well because thats 50+ divs of cost or more... Titan can out damage LS and can offscreen clear now look at kal toraks build if its not using a bug which may be possible.... several other comparible builds that map clear just as fast and boss clear faster..... if anything boss clear + surviabilty > LS if they took the average LS death count its probably 50-200 deaths as apposed to the people who spend cash on their build with maybe 1-10 deaths because they got 5k+ ES with perfect rolls and dual breach rings and the OP dmg sceptre.... I don't see the damage being nerfed if anything they may buff evasion and evasion+armour those are the weakest at the moment. Literally everyone says EV is not feasibile roll ES and/or get a larger life pool + max block and EV which ruins your damage unless you have GG gear

The game is a power fantasy game some builds will clear better and some will boss better LS does not boss well with low investment its fine. maybe they will slightly nerf its AOE clear and bring up its single target damage or bring some of it's other skills closer in line with Lightning that would be preferred by most casual players. Next season we are all rolling druids or whatever class comes in regardless of LS being strong... RN rake and the OP movement mecahnics are being abused for league start you want that nerfed?

Personally I hope it does get absolutely obliterated. I don't think it's so much of a problem that this combo has such an easy time clearing trash, I think the biggest problem is
how much ground this combo covers. There's absolutely no reason for you to throw a spear and have it go 80 bajillion screens away. It literally impacts and goes in All directions and that's where it's problem lies.... It should really only fork out forward, maybe more in a Y shape. It makes me uncomfortable to see a skill like that do what it does.

Most of these CoC herald interactions are just obliterating this game, and this skill needs a different idea in how it paths after impact. It's too much. I hope they fix this and just make it impact and go forward in a Y shape

Do you actually think the weapon that gives you +20% base crit chance AND doubles your crit damage bonus is not getting nerfed into chance shards? 43% of DOTH characters on ninja are using it.

edit: LS isn't that egregious. Heralds are screen-clearing.
