splinter+armour explosion?

if I socket splinter to a skill that doesn’t break armour giving it the ability to break armour will that mean armour explosion will work with that skill when it fully breaks an enemies armour causing an explosion?

If you just mean "a skill that doesn't innately break armour", then yes.

If you mean "a skill that says it cannot break armour", such as High Velocity Rounds or Sunder--"cannot" overrides "can", so the skills would still not break armour.
