Will shock be removed if I apply ignite on target?

I was wondering, can ignite be applied on a shocked target without canceling the first debuff (shock)?

Yup.

You can stack as many debuffs as you want BUT only the strongest of each type will be in effect.

Eg, strongest ignite is active, if it expires the next strongest ignite that still has duration becomes active.

shock / ignite / chill / etc all work independently from each other

Yup, unless you use the support gem which stops shock being removed by ignite.

I run a fun build using visage and 2x all support gems, run 2 lances, one with 50%+30% magntidue of shock and 2nd lance as a nuke. Running sacred sceptre aswell so im 65/30/5 lightning / fire / cold and the gem really helps keep shock going. :)

If you're talking about Stormfire, that reads as Shocks simply last longer on Ignited enemies--the Shock's duration won't tick down until the enemy is no longer Ignited.
