Game is already below 30k on steamchart less than 2 months after 0.2 released
Just a friendly reminder for all the people that said 0.2 player numbers weren't a disaster, it's less than 2 months since 0.2 came out and there's less than 30k daily players on steamchart. It took almost 4 months for 0.1 to reach those numbers.
2 months after 0.1 released the game still had over 100k players playing. The game needs to be fun and accessible for casual players, and that means meta builds have to faceroll the content. GGG should give up on this and just accept that we need meta builds to faceroll for the game to be healthy. Also it's not a good idea to nerf everything start a new patch. Players want consistent league starters. This is not a bad thing. Last bumped on May 31, 2025, 1:04:31 PM

I would like to put my 2 cents in on this.
Most likely people will come in here and say "We have been in this season for so long people are going to quit". While thats true but if you look at the chart they released the game with 578,000 players. Right before the patch they were down to 72,000 players. How in the hell do you loose 500,000 players, seriously 500k players left. Ok, again people will say, end of the season so people got bored. Patched released and steam charts say 246,000. The new patch releases and half of your players never came back. Half. So now, one month later. Out of the 246,000 players that you have, 216,000 of those players left after only one month. Seems to me whatever they are doing isnt working. Either management needs to change or the vision needs to be scrapped. Me personally, i think Johnathan needs to go and a new direction needs to be put in place because, like i said before, what you are doing isnt keeping player interest. I would have to think Tencent is giving them hell on a daily basis and asking how it is possible that you are bleeding these many players so soon. Gold mine for Tencent and GGG totally wasted because of a craptastic gaming vision from early 2000's. Last edited by bobothewizard#1818 on May 28, 2025, 8:48:49 PM

and this is from the same people who told us LE are going to destroy POE 2 because the game it's super "fun".
Yep for one week LE got slightly more player player that poe 2...now the game get 3 time less player than POE 2. when you can destroy the end game after 3 day, you play something else after 1 week; or more accurately you come back to POE 2 to whine; claim the game is too hard because Johnathan don't want you to have your 1 button build 25 billion damage on 4 screen each second after 1 day. |

This has nothing to do with LE or whiners or whatever. It has to do with what they (GGG) are doing and how it is not working.
If you like the game, great play it, over 80% of the player base did not or does not like the direction GGG is going with it and it shows by the retention of players. If thats what GGG wants, then fine, continue on the direction they are going. I dont think Tencent will let them continue bleeding players and will eventually step in. |

" GGG is a company of contrasts. They want players to get to end game and get hooked, yet their hubris compels them to make the campaign hard and exhausting. They made a whole new game touting slower and meaningful combat, while only deliberately slowing our character while mobs still run around like cracked up caffeine fiends. They know that a good chunk of players detested Sanctum and Ultimatum, yet they rework them to try to get people that hate them to not hate them. Why? Why try to get players to play your way? Most players don't like the campaign, hate being slow, and now miss Labs. Good job GGG, you alienated everyone but your most devoted fans. |

If people hate the game why do they come here and post? Is moving on to something else really that hard? No seriously, cant you just walk away like all the other players you cite? They're not coming on the forums to whine, they just left. Why do you come to post and not just let it go? POE is a helluva drug that's why. CANT.STOP.
But seriously, saying the campaign is too hard is pretty damn hilarious! And, naw, Tencent isnt saying anything because the money is still rolling in. Doesn't matter if they have 100 players or 100,000. If the money is still rolling in, publisher DGAF how many people play. If the money wasn't rolling in, they would cut their losses and pull the plug ASAP, not put out another patch with crazy amounts of additions. Studio still flush with cash, players still playing game like addicts, everything is fine. Except the campaign, apparently, thats way too hard lol. |

" Because they have ppl like you answering, giving them more fun on the forum than in the game itself. If he shouldn't come here and post, why are you posting ? Your logic applies to others but not to you ? Last edited by rob_korn#1745 on May 29, 2025, 4:05:03 AM

" Not sure why this bothers you (and the other people who’s only skill seems to be able to check steam charts), I can see why it might bother GGG but you not so much. You either like the game, then just play it! Dislike the game, the go forth and play something else but your posts offer nothing! OR best of all do a list of top 5 things you want to see changed, why and how (nether fun not accessible are, say what specifically). People need to stop using the 500k argument, most of them were tourists! and many of them expect an easy game and "done" game since they paid money. However the game was hyped a lot but ARPG is a niche and seasonal genre and the most important..PoE is an hardcore game, there's no way this game would keep that many players, just look at PoE1...it's the same as PoE2 but worst, LE has like 2-3 times less players and D4 is being laughed at constantly. It's a niche genre where people come and go.
