Character Stuck in Void Realm After Server Disconnect – Need Help
Hi,
I encountered a serious issue while playing. After entering a Void map, I was disconnected due to what seemed to be a server issue. When I reconnected, my character was stuck in the “Void” realm and is now inaccessible. I contacted support, but unfortunately, they said they cannot assist. However, this problem wasn’t caused by any action on my part — it clearly resulted from a server-side error. Losing my character like this is very frustrating and disappointing. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any way to escalate the issue or get further help? Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist or offer advice. Last bumped on Jun 13, 2025, 10:46:12 AM

If this was a character that was attempting a map with the "players are sent to the Void" on death, then it would appear that your character died during that server disconnect. Unfortunately, your character is now permanently in the Void and will not be restored as per GGG policy.

Just wanted to follow up again in case there's any way to get a second review on this.
My character was lost due to a clear server-side disconnect while entering the Void map — I didn't die due to gameplay or my own mistake. I fully understand GGG's policy, but this seems like an unfortunate edge case that deserves a bit of flexibility. I spent a lot of time on this character, and it's really disheartening to lose it this way. Even a one-time exception would mean a lot. Thank you for taking the time to read this. |

They don't do one time exceptions.
Suddenly everyone would be demanding their hc chars and void chars restored. |

![]() I think that's pretty clear. |

Thanks everyone for the responses. I understand GGG's stance on Void League and that it’s clearly communicated, as shown in the warning screen.
That said, my case feels different because the death wasn’t caused by gameplay or my actions, but by a server-side disconnect. I wasn't even actively playing when it happened. I'm not asking for a general policy change—just hoping GGG could consider reviewing rare, clearly documented edge cases like this. Even if the answer stays no, it’d mean a lot to know it was considered with context. Appreciate everyone’s input. |

Server disconnects are simply not GGG's problem. It is the risk you accept playing this game in the first place.
Placing GREATER risk by attempting a "void" map is....your decision. Personally, if I really cared I would NEVER enter a void map. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jun 13, 2025, 9:24:57 AM

I get that Void maps come with high risk and that server issues are part of online gaming. But I think there's a meaningful distinction between a character dying due to gameplay and dying due to an involuntary server disconnect.
Not asking GGG to remove all risks—just wishing there was a bit of room for handling clear edge cases differently. I guess we all value different things in the game. Thanks for sharing your view. |

" "New Content and Features You can now pause the game by opening the menu or any fullscreen interface like the Passive Skill Tree. You will also be paused if any lag is detected, or if you disconnect. Some content, mainly Pinnacle Boss fights, will apply the "Temporal Interference" debuff to you, which prevents the game from being paused." It's not inherenty the players fault either, so gaslighting for a problem clearly isn't their fault is bs mentality. Also, yeah, apparently, GGG fixed it, even if it "isn't their problem". If it actually works, we'll see in a few hours. |
