Cannot get to the log in screen after small update

Good day,

I am unable to get to the log in screen after a small new update after the initial update of Secrets of the Atlas. I was able to play about 1 hour after the Secrets of the Atlas league started, but then there was an update and I cannot even get to the log in screen. The game loads, but all I see is the courser and a black screen.

same here, stuck on the spinning gears and never makes it to login, even after a restart.

The same thing was happening to me after the update. Black screen with a cursor and then the game would crash after several seconds.

I was able to fix it by going into the "production_Config" file and changing the "device_type" setting to DirectX11 instead of DirectX12. I have had crashing issues with DirectX12 in the past and always used DirectX11, so I'm not sure why it got set to DirectX12.

I've seen other posts with people mentioning that they needed to change this setting from Vulkan to DirectX12 to get the game to run, so it's dependent on what configs you normally use.

Had the same issue but went into the production_Config.ini file and changed device_type=Vulkan to device_type=DirectX12 and the game loads with no issues now,

well that had not worked for me this morning, but tried it again just now (DirectX12 -> DirectX11) and that worked, for anyone else stuck.

edit: scratch that, failed to load into town and now it's stuck again x.x
