Kingmaker with champion ascendency "fortitude"

Kingmakers "Nearby Allies have +10 Fortification" does not work when you allocate the champion ascendency "fortitude".

I meant to add that the kingmaker is attached to a mercenary ally, so him giving me the buffs.

You are always at maximum fortification stacks with Fortidute. Kingmaker doesn't raise the maximum.
