Extensive RAM usage after recent patch that leads to clients crash
Problem:
After recent patch PoE1 client uses 5-7gb RAM on start (even in log-in screen). After first map its more like 7-9gb. If you try to juice your maps a bit it quickly jumps to 11gb+ and soon crashes to desktop without any error message. If you press F1 (twice) you can see memory graph always stuck at 131039.0GB (!). The second thing is VRAM graph is only at 1.9GB. Usually it was more than that, my GPU has 8gb VRAM. Both of these indicators seems bugged. Before patch I had game’s client sitting at 8-9gb maximum, usually was more like 3-5gb. My specs: GPU: GeForce RTX 3070Ti CPU: Intel i7-11700 RAM: 32gb OS: Windows 10 64bit What I already tried: 1) Updated to newest Nvidia GPU driver 576.80. Did not help. Was the same on previous driver 576.52. Even tried old 555.99. Same issue on any of these. 2) Disabled sound by editing production_Config.ini. Did not help. Back to default settings. 3) Switch different renderers. Tried all 3 options and it seems has little effect if any. 4) Set graphics settings to lowest. Did not help. Looks like this is not GPU related. 5) Set graphic mode to Windowed Fullscreen. Probably helped a very little bit. Not sure. Assumptions: 1) Ineffective caching strategy. 2) Memory leak. 3) Some kind of client-server interaction issue (because servers are absolutely terrible right now, but probably this is some kind of conspiracy). +1
I also have "131039.2 GB" of total 16gb. It seems that this indicator is completly wrong. I thougth it shows 13gb with wrong dot placement. But task manager shows around 5gb usage. |

Yeah indicators seems broken but that would be "alright" if not constant client crashes.
I have to add that CPU indicator seems broken too. The graph is always full even in hideout. While task manager shows like 10-15% load or less. As for 5gb RAM usage this is probably a "norm" for modern PoE. I was struggling a lot with 16gb RAM to be honest (when juicing of course, for non-juiced maps its fine), had to upgrade to 32. But it seems even that is not enough somehow 0_o And it was very smooth until the recent patch... Last edited by s0mbr#5965 on Jun 18, 2025, 10:31:43 AM

" Do you have FPS cap? I have 72fps cap and CPU (Ryzen 3300X) indicator works fine. |

I use really ancient (but very good) monitor so VSync is always enabled. Thus Foreground FPS Cap is not relevant, I believe. Background FPS Cap is set to 30 (default). CPU indicator worked more or less adequately before 3.26. Now its almost always maxed in default hideout without MTX, minions etc.

Yeah, ever since 3.26.0c or one of the hotfixes to it, I can do at most one single map before the game is consuming 11GB of RAM. Feels like someone accidentally introduced a memory leak.
