Changing window focus to desktop using win+tab completely stops game rendering

At any point in game, if i use win+tab to change to DESKTOP SPECIFICALLY (not other window), i.e. by using win+tab, then clicking the windows desktop shortcut (bottom right screen corner), the game screen freezes when returning focus, despite me still being able to interact with the game, such as chatting. Game simply hangs on the last rendered frame (also happens in character select, so it's not in-game specific - if i carefully manouver, i can get into town with the frozen login screen still showing).

Restarting the game fixes the issue.

I am playing on Vulkan renderer in windowed mode, i HAVE tried both DX11 and 12, where this is NOT an issue.

My specs:
CPU: i7 12650h
GPU: 3050 laptop (latest NVIDIA game ready drivers, ver. 576.80)
RAM: 16GB
