Cant equip Mercenary off hand weapon on PS4

How do I equip 2 wands on my str/dex/int mercenary on ps4?

I can equip both wands seperately but it will not allow me to equip any in the off hand. Is this a bug? what am I missing here?

I have 2 act 1 no level or intelligence required wands. My character can equip the 2 wands. My Mercenary can only equip 1 wand and and can not equip both wands.

The Mercenaries have restrictions of what weapons they can use. I am not certain of the specific Merc you are referencing, but I think it is possible that your Merc can not dual wield wands. It might need to use wand/shield.

Alternatively, if that Merc can dual wield wands, it might be possible that the second wand you are trying to equip does not meet the attribute or level requirements of your Merc.

It will be what ever items types it was using when you first hired them. I have also noticed this is confusing once you have taken the first set of items of them, if they were not replaced. It seems to me like there is no indication of the type of weapons they can use, which I think can be improved, If it is not already available to view in game, perhaps mentioned on their stats page or character information.

(I noticed on PoeDB you can see the weapon types if you look on the mercenary type, I made post on the feedback suggesting they should have this information on the mercenary character sheet.)
