Oneshot by Sasan when he transitioned
The fight lasted about 10 seconds.
I was bursting him down with Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice. He had these voice lines before going into immunity phase where I then died from 100%: "Where ya aiming'?" "Up in flames!" "Begone!". I'm CI with 14.1k ES. Max phys hit without flasks is 35K (was standing still) and 116k fire. I would love if someone could help me figure out how it happened. My merc is a cruel mistress using eber's unification, inextricable fate, dying breath, and shaper's seed for uniques. I'll link my pob as well. Immortal Call is on CWDT, so unless you're self damaging or taking small hits previously, it won't apply for one large hit. Brings you to 87k max fire and 26k phys if it was off.
Arctic Armour is only reduced phys/fire while stationary. If you were moving while the attack happened, then you no longer have that mitigation. Unclear if you were moving or not, but a factor nonetheless. Moving with IC off brings you to 20k phys hit and 70k fire hit. I'm going to assume your relevant defensive flasks were off since you have crit on every flask and you cannot gain more than 1 charge per 200ms between all 5 flasks, so no more than 5 flask charges per second which could have split between any of them. Now for the tricky part.. what killed you. I'm going to assume it wasn't the ground degen if you're sure it went from 100% to 0% instantly. Which leaves only 2 attacks I can think of that can do that much damage: 1. Snipe has a 4138-6207 base phys at level 84, 60% converted to fire, and 140% more damage multiplier and 5% base crit. A crit with that 40% phys and 130% crit multi could do a lot, especially if moving. My math might off here, so full grain of salt: 6207 x 2.4 x 1.3 = 19,366, then split that 7,746 phys and rest fire. Shouldn't be enough if both poedb and PoB are correct. 2. Explosive Arrow. I have no idea how the math works on EA, but I'll just point out it has the same base damage as snipe, extra projectiles add to the explosion damage and add more base fire damage, and the max stack of EA is 20. I have completely brained off that fight the last 20 times I fought them, so I have no idea realistically how many stacks of EA, but enough stacks could do it? 3. In writing that last one, I thought of one other variable, which absolutely sucks if it happened. Ignite. If Sasan crit you with either of those attacks, that ignite would be a massive amount of damage and neither attack has a less multiplier for ailments. But no way to prove it wasn't ignite without video unfortunately. Immortal Call would proc from the crit, but Arctic Armour does not apply to fire damage taken from ailments, no crit mitigation at first glance for the base hit, and reduced duration of ignite wouldn't matter if the ignite value was high enough. Hope that gives some clarity. |

Thanks for the detailed reply! I didn't realise immortal call was ticked on in pob. It was definitely not up. After reading your reply I'm pretty sure it must have been a snipe crit then.
Is the skill info from poedb or? couldn't see any on the wiki. I guess I'll up my phys mitigation for next time. and remember tukuhama pantheon... I really didnt think a oneshot was possible but it's infinitely better than if it was some bugged interaction. Thanks again! For your nostalgic needs:

" Yea, poedb has details. Search Sasan, go to the tab with their skills, then set the monster level to 84. Some of the data is not fully accurate like EA has an unknown modifier to damage per hits per EA on target and appears to have no text for converting to fire (unless it isn't converted which is a different concern), but better than nothing. |
