Cross Contamination Challenge Not Completing

There seems to be an issue if your merc kills the essence monster while you (as the player) is possessed by a tempest. I have killed many essence monsters while affect by tempest and this challenge is not completing.

The same goes for the beyond boss while in a breach. I have also killed many beyond bosses while in a breach (merc is the one actually killing) and this challenge will not complete.

This poses a serious issue, because I know a lot of the player base is "aura botting" their merc. Please fix.
