Couch Co-op UI Severely Broken
When using the split-screen interface to manage the 2nd player's (right side) skill menu, it cuts off half of the menu and will not allow the player to properly navigate their skills. This is the menu that opens by default instead of the fullscreen interface.
The same issue is present on player 1 (left side). When opening the skill menu, the actual skill/button selection interface is offset from the menu background. Instead of showing centered on the background, it is offset so that the left edge of the interface is in the center of the background. This is the cause of the issue for the P2 screen. This same issue extends to the fullscreen interface as well (which I can only get to by opening the radial menu, selecting the Quest option to open the map, then navigating to the skills tab). At least here, the interface takes up my entire screen for one player so they can still manage their skills, but the offset problem causes a lot of issues. --- When navigating the Stash, upon selecting items in certain stash tabs (specifically the special Flask tab), the selector pops off screen each time and will reappear at a random spot on the paper doll. When trying to pull out several flasks, I have to select a flask, renavigate from the paper doll back into the stash tab, select the next item, then repeat. This goes from being two button presses to being almost 20 per item in a large stash. This issue occurs in other stash tabs randomly, but it is consistent on the Flask tab. --- The interact-vs-cast functionality is unreliable. When attempting to interact with some items (including reviving players) that my character is visually standing next to and facing, it does not recognize I am interacting and will cast a skill. I will have to move my character away from the target and back towards it multiple times from slightly different angles because it feels almost like it requires pixel-perfect alignment. --- The stash navigation is unintuitive and clunky to use. Having to use R3 + D-pad to navigate around is confusing and especially since R3 + Up is for a settings interface, while R3 + Down is for switching between folders and tabs means that I very often hit the wrong button when trying to navigate up to select a different folder. Having L2/R2 be set to move stash tabs around while L1/R1 changes tabs means that I often find myself rearranging tabs when my finger slips and hits the wrong button. Overall, the stash tab navigation on PS5 is frustrating, clunky, and makes the stash something I actively avoid engaging with because I have to think way more about just navigating a menu than anything else in the game. --- The character ground icons are frustratingly hard to see. They are thin, relatively small, and not enclosed. To make matters worse, it's almost like PoE2 intentionally chose to use the exact same colors, but opposite of what Diablo 4 uses: In D4, P1 is blue and P2 is yellow, but in PoE2, P1 is the exact same shade of yellow and P2 is the exact same shade of blue. As a couple that plays both games, it gets frustrating when you have to mentally correct for that. The color issue isn't directly a bug or issue, but it would be nice if they got switched so there was some consistency between the games. --- Overall, PoE2 is definitely a better game than I expected so far and issues like this are expected for a game still in beta that only recently got a couch co-op feature. But the interface definitely needs a lot of love. Last bumped on Aug 1, 2025, 8:18:12 AM
