Reset maps on POE2?

I made a lot of mistakes with an old character once I got to end game and mapping was horrible. I started a new character and once I completed Act 3 went to the mapping device and all the old maps were still there and as well as the quests. Is there a way to reset the entire map and quests so I can progress with this new character?

It's not the mapping system itself; it's how I did on the older character and not really understanding how things go. So a lot of citadels and corrupted towers got locked out because I died a lot. So I was hoping for a clean start.

Just move to new areas hidden by fog, there you will find new towers and citadels.
