Volatility Support + Frost Wall interaction

No sure if this is a bug or intended but it is impossible to stack volatility on crit by hitting frost walls. The wording just talks about critical strikes so there should not be a restriction from that. Ice crystals also count as enemies for other skills such as gathering storm.

It also does look like it is possible to critical hit frost walls and gain the bonuses for dealing a crit recently. It seems really inconsistent, that volatility support doesn't work the same way.
