Preventing Price Fixing Abuse in the New Trade System

The new trading system looks like a huge improvement — really looking forward to it.

One concern though: since trades still require entering a seller’s hideout and using an NPC, there’s potential for abuse. Right now, players can design hideouts that trap visitors or block access to certain areas. If the trade NPC can be isolated the same way, price fixers could list high-value items indefinitely without ever completing a trade.

To prevent this, there should be a guaranteed way to always reach and interact with the trade NPC, regardless of hideout layout. This would stop abuse and make sure the new system actually delivers on its goal of fairer, smoother trading.

First of all, there is no new trade system in this game.

If you're talking about the other game that is getting one, then they clearly explained you would be teleporting to the npc, not the waypoint, and I think they also said the shop would be immediately open upon arrival, with the item highlighted. Not sure on that part, but it is the way it should be anyway.

Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".

Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts.

There **will** be this trade system in PoE1.

It’s being implemented in PoE2 first and then ported back into PoE1—exactly the same way Faustus was.

You’ve misheard what was actually said. The explanation was very clear: once you find an item, you can click a button to instantly teleport to the seller’s hideout, open a trade window with Angie to buy it, and while you’re there, browse the rest of their inventory.

In the footage, the character **arrives via the waypoint**—the stash, guild stash, and Doryani are plainly visible. Angie is standing just off to the side. That’s not speculation; it’s shown directly in the video.

They also confirmed Angie can be invited into **your** hideout once you clear an island and secure it.

And if that wasn’t enough proof, the upcoming **0.3.0 patch (“The Third Edict”)** is adding **Asynchronous Trading (Offline Trading)**: you’ll be able to list items with a merchant NPC in your hideout, and other players can buy them even while you’re offline.
so yes, the system is real, it’s confirmed, and it’s on the way.
