Mercinaries in the Ancient City getting stuck.

I play all the professions. I've made three mercinaries and all three have gotten stuck in the first level of the Ancient City Act II. Weird. Basically,
forward and backward movement stop working. This did not happen with my other six characters. I play on two different pc's in different towns. I have done all the following operations on both computes multiple times: 1) switched the WASD vs mouse and keyboard option in the settings, 2) verified the steam files,
switched out the mice, 3) uninstalled and reinstalled PoE2, 4) uninstalled and reinstalled STEAM, 5) mulible reboots and restarts. Anything else I can do on my end other than giving up on mercinaries?
