Rapid Shot，Is the penalty of being unable to use it for 10 seconds too harsh?

When fighting a boss, if you accidentally overheat and can't deal damage for 10 seconds, the impact must be huge, right?

Agreed. They should just give it a massive accuracy penalty on high heat if they want an overheat effect.

Hard to say without being able to test it. But from what the notes say, you should be good as long as you fire grenades between bursts with the occasional incindiary shotgun blast.
