Some questions about the Blood Mage's "Sanguine Tides" Ascendancy passives.
|
The description of this Ascendancy passive states: "and Gain 1% of Damage as Physical Damage for 3 seconds per Charge consumed this way."Does this potentially allow stacking 10, 20, or even 30 layers of this effect within 3 seconds?
Is there an upper limit to this stacking? Last edited by haw0100#4581 on Aug 26, 2025, 8:54:15 AM Last bumped on Jan 9, 2026, 8:05:17 AM

All depends on how fast you can refill your life flask charges i guess.
If max charges are 120 (not sure about this) you need to generate 48 charges in less than 3 seconds which means you have to spend 192% of your max life in less than 3 seconds to trigger the passive and stack the bonus, if possible. Is this correct? Edit: not including charges gained per second from the flask and other bonus from belt n stuff. Last edited by IILU81II#8410 on Aug 26, 2025, 9:17:45 AM

" No I mean, if automatically consuming a flask each time its charges fully replenish counts as 1 stack, and theoretically, it's possible to consume flasks 10, 20, or even 30 times within 3 seconds, does that mean I could gain 10 * 30% or even 30 * 30% extra physical damage? Assuming the flask charge cap is 75. According to your logic, consuming 5000% or more of my life within 3 seconds. No problem. Last edited by haw0100#4581 on Aug 26, 2025, 10:03:08 AM

" Where does that 5000% comes from? The effect triggers upon refilling charges to max, lets say 120 charges, then it consumes 40% of those charges to grants you 48% physical damage for 3 seconds (40%*120) Now you have to generate 48 charges within 3 seconds to get back to full to trigger the passive again and get another stack. By the time you get the second stack tho the first one expires, you can have 100% uptime for sure, i dont understand how you get that 30 multiplicative. No? " Yes, beyond your imagination. That's exactly why I came here to ask if this buff can stack, because some people on Reddit have also noticed this issue, but it hasn't caught GGG's attention yet. Since the flask automatically consumes 40% of its charges when fully replenished, I just need to fully recharge it 30 times within 3 seconds. For every 4% of life consumed, I gain 1 flask charge. So, I only need to consume 30 × 30 × 4% = 3600% of my life within 3 seconds—slightly less than initially expected. (Assuming the flask charge cap is 75.) What's the answer here, does the buff stack or not?

I did some quick testing, and I am 90% sure that yes it can indeed stack. While looking at my dps chart while running maps, i have managed to archeive 3 spontanoes instances of a dps increase, with a timing fitting my flask refills.
Nothing in my support gems nor skill tree should cause this (to my knowladge atleast). I went from 66.5k dps to 110k dps, so its quite a significant dps boost if you can keep 2-3 instances of sanguine tide going at once. Last edited by Rexxarmus#4220 on Jan 8, 2026, 5:02:37 PM

" It seems GGG isn't paying attention to this issue. This is just one of the mechanisms that could potentially be abused, so as long as there aren't many users exploiting it, it won't get fixed... |
