Start passive tree where you want.
Like the titles suggests, I think it would be great for creative builds and diversity if we could select our starting node on the passive tree. For example, I made a HotG Chronomancer at launch. I wasted about 20-ish points just getting over to the Warrior side of the tree since I was forced to started at the top. Would you like that freedom or do you think GGG would ever be open to the idea?

How would you give classes meaning then? That's 50% the reason you pick a class since you can use all skills with any class if you build it right. The other 50% is the ascendancy class of course.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. That was the entire point. I made a Chono HotG build. Essentially a Warrior but with cooldown spells. It was actually really fun but I just felt it would've been stronger had I not wasted 20 something nodes getting over to the Warrior side of the tree.
Does that make sense? Last edited by Winnie#4570 on Aug 28, 2025, 11:14:09 AM

" This is an absolutely terrible idea.... |

Cool mate. I also suggest you could just pick whatever points you like from the tree. Without connecting or anything. Now, THAT would give us versability!

Just no.

The answer you're looking for already exists in POE1 in the form of the Scion class.
I'd say there's a good chance that we get something similar when all the classes finally release for poe2 but considering all the other content they cut between the games I don't want to get my hopes up. |

If you wasted points going from the Sorc starting area to Warrior, you did a lot wrong in your build. There are numerous chase-nodes that make sense along the way.
