Supportable skills

The recommended support gem that's shown by default for Dark Effigy shows, Poison I, Concentrated Area, and Withering Touch. But on the Supportable Skills tooltip, it shows that all 3 of these don't work on Dark Effigy at all. Why would they recommened something that doesn't work? Is the Supportable Skills list outdated or broken or something? A lot of guides I've been reading for EDC Lich recommends support gems that in-game show that they are incompatible with Dark Effigy, so I don't even know if my support gems are working properly or not.
