Map reset after Boss death

After dieing in a Map Boss arena with a abyss present my whole map got reset including layout, fog of war and checkpoints. After the reset the boss was still alive but all mobs in the map were dead and the abyss was gone.

Happened to me as well. Lost all my ritual items because I did not defer before the death, seeing that I had revives left.
