I heard Petrified blood is OP with DOD ?
What does petrified blood do with Defiance of destiny and progenesis to make it OP ? But on Pob number it's seem inferior than flesh and stone

Flesh and stone is pretty good. What POB metric are you using to compare them? One thing about flesh and stone is the damage mitigation dissipates as the source is further away from you. So that max value will not apply to all damage you are taking. Damage from enemies outside the aura will not be reduced.
Basically Progenies and Petrified blood delay some of the damage you are taking from an instantaneous hit, to a progressive degen. In POE that is often preferable, because there are a lot of sources of recovery that will effectively right off the degen, and you end up getting mitigation against hits without much downside. In the case of Petrified blood, there are some further downsides to using it, but some builds can also overcome those, and there are potentially other benefits beyond just the mitigation. For example, being on low life can give buffs and you may be able to reserve life, get over-leech, etc. I would assume the reason for using those is you often have a low life pool while using Petrified blood, so anything that keeps that life pool high or increases mitigation is good, so you don't get one shot. I have not used this combination myself, but it is possible that it is being played without reserving life. So that DoD is still getting full value, but your life pool is more valuable than on a regular build, because of Petrified blood mitigation. So that 20% before you are hit, might be closer to value of double that on another build. If your effective life pool is around 50%, 20% recovery means you are healing for potentially almost half your life pool before you get hit. Even with reserving, there is probably good synergy that might overcome not getting full value from the amulet mod. DoD works off how much unreserved life you have missing and Petrified blood builds often have health missing, so it is a good combination. If you happen to be at higher health from flask, it is likely that you are not in danger anyway, so it is protecting you more, when you need it. You are also constantly taking damage over time, so having life chunking in regularly means you can continue to mitigate and recover in that cyclical fashion of taking the hit damage as DOT. Something else to consider is your max life. It relates to these factors, so if the builds using it have a higher life pool than you build, it might be more effective for them. In general, these items are just strong items, so they will be good on a lot of builds, but it does seem like there is good synergy between these mechanics. " Progenesis / Blood work together to turn a huge hit into a smaller damaging DoT. Defiance of Destiny gives massive recovery to counter the DoT. Ex: if you take 10k hit without either, and you don't have 10k ehp for hits, you die. Progenesis alone turns this into a 7.5k hit, and a 2.5k dot making it easier to tank the initial hit and then recover. Petrified blood, assuming you took the hit at FULL health, turns another 20% into DoT. Initial BIG hit value is now only 5.5k, with a 4.5k (or less re: petrified blood) DoT. Add Defiance of Destiny and (assuming you have 5000 health) you immediately recover 1000 health and SURVIVE the 10k hit. Assuming you have leech or a health potion or other recovery...that means you are back to full (petrified blood limited) health. All three together, along with recoup, can work to almost completely mitigate any form of 1hko hit except a really buffed up boss move. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Sep 10, 2025, 9:03:30 PM
