Suggestion: Regex Support for Prefix/Suffix Filtering + Increased Regex Length

I would like to suggest some improvements to the stash search and regex system, especially with Waystones in POE2 but also for items in general.

Currently, there are two main limitations:

There is no way to directly filter by prefix or suffix. Players often want to find items with exactly X prefixes and Y suffixes (for example 2 prefixes and 3 suffixes on a Waystone). At the moment the only option is to rely on keyword matching, which is inconsistent and not accurate.

The regex length limit of 48 characters is too short. Complex filters that try to match multiple affixes or combinations quickly run out of space. This makes it hard to build useful filters without external tools or lots of manual checking.

Proposed improvements:

Add dedicated regex tokens such as prefix: and suffix: that let us filter affixes explicitly (for example prefix=2 suffix=3).

Expose affix type in item text so regex can match it correctly.

Increase the regex character limit from 48 to at least 128 or 256.

Consider adding in-game filter support for prefix/suffix counts, similar to how we can already filter sockets, item level, etc.

These changes would make stash management and trading smoother, reduce the need to manually scan every item, and improve the crafting and progression experience.

The prefix and suffix count search is something that would be massively helpful. Would make general crafting and rolling of waystones much less tedious

That's totally what players need!

I would also like it. Maybe even the Market Search could be applyed for marking items inside the stash.


Maybe even possible to choose wich stashes should be searched for the Filter.


I did one test and put the waystones into the NPC Seller (for Instabuyout) for like 1 Mirror and could use the Market search for specific amount of Prefix and Suffix, they were displayed in the search, but I get an Info Message of not be able to buy my own stuff. If this could also Highlight it, maybe usefull.

Only taking one Item outside , would be still not be usefull for mass waystone rolling and checking.
