Lightining spear

Why lightining bolts from Lightining spear doesnt inflict bleed (i'm using bleed III) but in the Ailments section of itsef it says "MAIN HAND CHANCE TO INFLICT BLEEDING ON HIT 100%" and "BLEED DURATION 5s"?

There is a 80% conversion from phy to lightning. I suspected that only the spear projectile has a chance of bleeding from the 20% phy while the lightning only cause pure lightning damage and come from the 80%.

I do have a question whether the throw spear is considered a melee attack or not to wager to learn the passive skills that increase damage after a melee attack has been performed.

As I do know the answer for this one, I avoid the passive skills on that.

The bolts deal purely lightning damage. By default only phys damage can bleed.

Spear Throw is not a melee attack.
