What are we supposed to do with hexblast?
No seriously.
We can't detonate infinite duration curses. We can't detonate hex ground curses. You decided to add a 10% more damage per 1 second left of curses quality mod cause reasons... Average curse by end game lasts 15 seconds. Which only leaves us 1 option for regular damage which is throwing in tons of less duration. You can get upwards of 45-60 seconds if you just dump more duration which is a measily 300% more damage if you can reach 60 seconds and you have to wait 30 seconds in a fight to even see it. I wanna know which one of these bozos sat down and looked at hex blast and went....nah....this is way more troublesome than Arc, NAH this is way more overpowered than Comet. "WE BUFFED SKILLS ACROSS THE BOARD" But we added 1000% more time between when you can use hexblast. No fun allowed. No build diversity allowed. Its ED contagion and if you don't like it we gotta play lightning arrow deadeye or whatever else is popular because the only reason its even popular is because its designed to be USED SMOOTHLY! THERE IS NOTHING SMOOTH ABOUT HEXBLAST! GGG PLEASE! Give us smooth consistent skills I don't give a damn about the campaign you can't even use this stuff in end game. Stop putting things into our skills that are counter intuitive to each other and make us spend extra time when WE DON'T HAVE TIME! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THERES A GIANT GREEN AND BLACK DEMON CHASING ME AT 40M/S WE DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR NONSENSE! I want poe 2 to be successful but stuff like this always makes me feel like I'm wasting my time when the same thing can be done in poe 1 to a 99.9% smoother degree of gameplay where every decision I make doesn't also come with 7 downsides, where planning things out makes logical sense, and finding uniques feels good because they actually provide UNIQUE gameplay decisions. (But its early access) yeah sure if GGG was a bunch of noobs who never touched a game. But GGG is Legacy right now, 10+ years of experience.... HELP! Last bumped on Sep 26, 2025, 9:29:59 AM

You are 100% right..
I feel fooled using Hexblast after it was changed the way you said... Please make the skill worth using it! |

isn't hexblast working with blasphemy or cursed ground a bit OP though, you can scale their aoe pretty easy and then they just hexblast entire screens? and then if you scale curse/presence radius around it, they become bad options for every other build
there's still similiar builds that explode screens through ascendancies and stuff idk think it's fine. think you are meant to aim for 100%+ reduced duration instead of "less" since the multiplier will mess up the scaling of the neg values |

" You can make Cursed ground and the application of manual curses in general instant with boots. The application of curses in order to even get to hexblast isn't a problem to begin with. Its never been a problem regardless of how lazy the blasphemy thing is. The time you have to wait before even being able to use the skill in the first place is the problem. If you shorten the time you still have to wait a lot of time plus waste several slots of your curse on duration malleability and then lose damage from the quality mod on hexblast. If you manage to get it to near instant you miss hexblast and run out of time to cast it. If you lengthen the time you gain damage but by the time you can actually cast hexblast any other build could have finished the fight by then. Your only other significant chaos damage ability you can use based on hits is doedres which requires full INT investment works better but has no skill gem scaling and is kinda broken right now with certain supports as in doesn't count them at all. And the very last and final option you have if you wanna go with a spell that hits chaos is to just not use hexblast at all and grab a sin ring and convert 100% of elemental damage into chaos and skip hexblast all together. Its cooked. Especially since those same elemental spells scale better than hexblast and have more base damage.... |

" I will take your word for it. Thinking about it more, even though there are builds that do similar stuff, Hexblast should still have a place somewhere. |

Cant use Hexblast with the only ascendancy that focuses on curses? Yeah..
this is a typical anti-synergy pattern I have seen in other arpgs but never in PoE, until PoE2 why? dunno perhaps they cant let us do much stuff with builds, as it would be impossible to balance, given they decided to force players into that more tactical combo abilities playstyle? just a speculation.. edit: and yes, they throw hordes of fast monsters upon us, that we can barely move, and at the same time, we are supposed to wait until we can damage them? So we wait until the curse activates, then we wait until half of the duration expires, then what? Perhaps we use some skill with unscallable seconds added to cast time?
