Fix sprint please as fast as possible - it is 10 times worse than last week

First things first: I usually like the implementation of sprint. The only issue I had was sprinting in combat from time to time, because I pushed the space bar 0.1s too long.

GGG changed something that also included a new bug. Now when rolling (which is one of the core aspects of my build to generate charges very quickly), the character randomly starts to sprint without any action I did. In fact, I was not holding space bar down and the character does not stop until he reaches my mouse or something ... I can move my mouse and the character follows it. I'm using WASD movement! So my character usually runs back into the enemies, because I want to attack them at this spot. I died countless times, because I could not interrupt that sprint or I could roll back again and character run into mob party again or character just falling and potions could not save her until I could use any other skill.

It happens randomly and on some maps significant more than on others (like every second to third time I use space bar vs 0-2 times the whole map). And it also happens to some other people, as a quick question on global chat offered. But it seems not everyone is affected (like a friend, playing with controller). After rolling back, I often use Rolling Thunder skill which is aligned to my left mouse button. This could be related (it usually happens when clicking that skill, but instead character auto-runs). It also applies more often when FPS are dropping below 60FPS and think it just "supports the bug". This could also be the related point why some maps have more issues than others.

I'm usually very calm about bugs etc, but I cannot ignore this one, so please give it a higher priority to fix it. Thanks.

Jup, but just in case: I did not activate that.
When will this bug be fixed? There are huge updates, but I still cannot play my main without dying over and over again, because my character runs uncontrolled into the enemies over and over again. I have a high bug tolerance, but this one hits over my tolerance in no time and so I'm already very close to leave that game .

Not because this bug exist at all, but because there are already 2 updates between report and now and it is still not fixed. I usually do not expect a fix coming that soon, but this effects me every time I play my main, because rolling is one of the core concepts to make this build so strong (without rolling I loose 80% of the builds strength).
@Devs, I have new infos and can describe the bug more in detail that should help you to fix it easily.

I'm using WASD-controls and could reproduce it in run-modus followed by rolling or multiple rollings and than stop doing anything (keep mouse ~90° with some distance to characters movement direction). The character will get into running state, but does not loose it. And what I did not know previously: running means the character always runs along the nose straight forward. That means, if key-up on WASD would not stop running mode, the character would run straight forward in the last direction, even if it would be something between the 8 directions that are forced via WASD.

This detail is important, because it explains what is coming next. After the manual rolling action there is a chance that running mode is still active while not pushing WASD-keys (and therefor no key-up action). And as I said above, the character just runs straight forward, with an exception. On non-running mode the character turns always in mouse direction and this changes also the running direction. What I wrote above in brackets will lead the character to turn 90° and run to mouse. It is kinda a mix between running mode and non-running mode which ends, once the character reaches the mouse pointer.

It usually is just 0,5 seconds, but can also be multiple seconds and in this time the character is nearly uncontrollable. Character can fall through running or just stucking between enemies und dies by incoming damage, because player cannot use skills.

So please check out what exactly does cause the running state not to end as it should be.
Just make sprinting for Shift key, why they have to make it a gimmick of dodging then sprint lol.
