Is there something I'm missing about Harmonic Corruption? It appears to do nothing as written.

The node reads "37% chance when Corrupting Essence Monsters in your Maps to Corrupt them an additional time."

If the objective of corrupting essences is to roll a rare essence, this doesn't appear to be helpful unless the reroll is contingent on the outcome of the first roll. If it is capable of rerolling favorable outcomes into unfavorable ones, then the final odds of a favorable outcome would be the same.
