Why does GGG hate melee players so much?

You can't have wizards and witches without barbarians and monks.

Playing a monk after your not even remotely awesome changes in .3 you have completely screwed over the monk ice strike community. Tempest bell for single target and a way to generate power charges, nope, try again. Tempest bell that gets moved around the map by the boss so you can't hit it in time, check. Tempest bell that does not generate power charges anymore, yep check. Tempest bell that lands out of reach even with a staff, yep, using hollow point technique makes the distance even worse. Tempest bell that 1 cast drains all your mana, yep. Did I mention no power charges, oh and not just none from ice strike, tried it with lightning attacks today with absolutely no joy. No single target spells that actually work for boss fights really sucks donkey balls. seriously it feels like my monks staff is just a feather and I am trying to tickle bosses to death.

I also enjoy ground effects I cannot see that just randomly kill me and I am really enjoying the fact that my health and mana pots do not regenerate charges like they are supposed to, ya know because I have to face fight all the mobs and bosses and I cannot do any decent damage because you folks don't like the way people are playing your game, really? I have yet to make a one button build, always try out multiple spells and strikes but I do not understand why you folks are telling us how to play your game when you should just make the game and let us play it whatever way brings us joy. Video games are supposed to be fun and an expression of our personalities, not your personalities.

Evasion seems even worse then it was before and I am still getting 1 shot even with max resistances.

Perhaps you all should take a pause on new content and fix all the issues that you have now as it seems that every time you "fix" something in the game 20 other problems from that fix emerge.

On a side note you need more servers in the USA, I do not understand why I am directed to servers in Texas when I live in Michigan. Ya know, it's only a 20 hour drive or about 1400 miles from where I live so you think that might have anything to do with the massive lag spikes and other nonsense people are experiencing with this game.

Still kinda love the game but getting a bit tired of gaming companies telling me how to play and I know this is early access but as far as I am concerned I feel that the game is in a worse state then when you first released it. Stop trying to appease the streamers and pro players, maybe help out us casual gamers once in a while.

Now I am going to go back to playing my mercenary that can basically sit still, spew grenades everywhere and live to fight another day because I sure as shit cannot do that with the monk.

I think they made the mana thing a lot easier to handle since both Chayula and Invoker both have ways to leech mana extremely effieciently now.

For me the biggest gripe is the fact that lots of skills "stop" you from doing things, or the promised effect is not NEARLY as strong as it should be.

Most of our skills are borderline unusable. Look at things like palm skills. They have - for whatever reason - and whole intro and a goddamn outro. You can ANIMATION CANCEL AN UNARMED ATTACKS WIND-DOWN BY DODGING. There should be absolutely 0-need to do something like this. None. What so ever.

The skills should flow together. When i press a palm ability during ice strike there should be clean transition into the animation and going back into ice strike / tempest flurry. It has to be seemless.

Then some skills have this weird "flying" effect like Whirling Assault or Vaulting Impact. Why are they so extremely slow? Because you don't want us to just spam them across the map? They feel extremely awkward to use, especially with, again, the weird wind-ups and downs on top of being extremely shit to scale.

Monk is a class that focuses on elemental damage, most of the nodes where the focus goes is either into elemental, speed or crit. If a skill is pure physical then we need to consider armour breaking, stunning etc but that takes the damage damage down. Not to mention leaving the attack speed in the gutter.

Then they compete with things like Ice Strike which just freezes enemies and bell that can build up a decent amount of stun without any stupid-ass wind-ups.

I think bell is right now the only skill that actually works "mid-combo". You can just hold down ice-strike and smack a bell in the middle of the combo and its so fast that you can just keep going. Every single skill should work like this.

And yes, defensive part is still quite annoying. But that could be managed a lot easier if some skills didnt make us stand still for a .3 seconds. Especially with the speeds that end-game monsters use it gets ridiculous and completely makes some skills absolutely unusable.

But the 100-0 instant invisible ground effects absolutely need to go. Visual clarity needs to be a thing they need to figure out. There's way too many ground effects and "screw melee" abilities in the game it's ridiculous.

Like me going into king of the mists boss with lower gear, only to find out phase 2 he just keeps spamming AoE smashes along with a tornado following me, all the time. It gave me PTSD and i didn't go back until i could face tank and kill the boss in under 15 seconds, making everything, every mechanic they made completely irrelevant. That was actually my entire strategy. Make myself so strong that i can ignore everything, which seems to be how melee "needs" to be right now. Either you kill everything so fast they cant kill you or you die. Or, in some rare cases, you make yourself so ridiculously tanky that you can - again, ignore everything.

That's not good design, i'm sorry but it's just not.
