Qiality of Life
Do you even hire anyone for Quality of Life assurance? Why does everything have to be written like a Tolkien novel for something so simple? For example: if an omen gives Kurgal affixes, then just call it OMEN OF KURGAL. That’s it. We shouldn’t have to go to third-party websites just to figure out name of omen corresponding to afixes.
Same thing with Eldritch currency in PoE1 — I constantly have to check descriptions to be sure I’ll roll the right explicit. If something can be simple, make it simple. It’s so annoying. There are plenty of QoL improvements needed in PoE2, but instead we get irrational, over-complicated stuff like: three different types of uncut gems, weird restrictions on skill leveling, RNG blocking access to core abilities. It should be straightforward. Let merchants sell skills and supports, just like in PoE1. Don’t lock them behind RNG. Skill progression should come from experience, not from gambling. Also, don’t block skill leveling behind uncut gem drops. Some skills (like curses) simply don’t work properly on higher-level monsters if you can’t level the gem. That’s a trap. On top of that, the whole UI experience for leveling socketed gems is terrible. Three types of uncut gems, gem levels, character levels, attributes… it’s a mess. Just keep it simple: give me a gem and let me level it. That’s it. PoE1 had it right — skill level = skill power. No monster-level restrictions, no unnecessary traps. In PoE2 I literally have to stop killing monsters and wait, just to check if my curse aura even works at this tier of waystone. Who thought this system was a good idea?
