[Feedback] Party Member Body Blocking
One of the biggest frustrations my friends and I have encountered in PoE 2 is the way party member collision (body blocking) works. While it adds realism, it actively discourages us from playing together, especially in hardcore mode where every movement can mean life or death.
Melee players blocking each other: If two melee characters try to dodge, kite, or reposition at the same time, we constantly block one another. Instead of focusing on combat, we end up fighting against each other's hitboxes. Corridor maps and tight spaces: In narrow layouts or small boss arenas, it becomes even worse. Players can get pinned against walls or mobs, with allies unintentionally sealing their escape. In HC, this usually means someone dies because a teammate was in the way. Impact on group play: We're a group of seven friends, but we've stopped playing together in larger parties because of this. Currently, we limit ourselves to: - No more than 2 players per party - Only 1 melee character per party This isn't because we don't want to play together, it's because the collision system punishes party size and melee playstyles. Why this matters Path of Exile has always been about freedom in building and playing your character. But with body blocking in PoE2, we feel restricted not by monsters or mechanics, but by our own teammates. It reduces the fun of co-op and makes melee characters a liability in group content. For example, we have a friend that only plays Warrior. With party body blocking, it means the other player has t oplay a ranged. Too many time we've died in Hardcore to friendly body blocking. Possible solutions - Make party members ghost each other (no collision) while keeping collision with monsters. - Add a configurable toggle/option for "ally collision" so groups can choose the experience they prefer. - At least implement grace frames where running into a teammate doesn't instantly block movement.
