Jonathan, can we now finally change "Waystones" to "Maps"? Core essence of POE

I donno bout you guys but "waystoning" around hasnt sound good since the day it was introduced. Nobody is calling them waystones and mapping is what POE is known for the most.

So can we please get a simple name change back to maps in 0.4?

You need a waystone to open a map. Sounds logical to me. Maps are on atlas, waystones are items.

I'm pretty sure OP wants to be able to control what maps they get to go to though, which is something you could do in PoE 1. Did you like linear maps? Buy a bunch of said map in bulk from other players, or add mechanics which allow you to target farm them yourself.

In PoE 2, you're forced to run whatever maps generated on the atlas, including ones you don't particularly enjoy. Do you like doing Expedition or Ritual content, but you hate how the atlas just keeps rolling out maps with tiny, narrow rooms which negatively impact the value of said content? Tough luck.

(I suppose the coming changes to tablets and towers in 0.3.1 will alleviate this, which is a welcome change, but it still means going through maps you don't like regardless)
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

He literally said "the name change"

But I think the ability to rerun the same non-unique map in PoE2 could be fine if you want to. Especially now, with the additional content randomly generated on map opening.
No no, i think OP means something much simpler than that.

Just change the name of the item to maps.

Maps, Mapping, is the giant defining feature of POE along with skill gems. Imagine if they called skill gems ' Spell Precious Stones' You would perhaps be like " No... that's a skill gem'

Same thing with maps. It's a map, call it a map. Why are you calling it a waystone. This is POE, call it a map.

Please stop calling Jonathan in a forum thread...that's rude and he won't answer you anyway, you're just attempting to attract which doesn't work and looks cringe more then anything.

But it's PoE2, not PoE1 and it's more logical to call something that looks like a waystone a waystone. A chunk of rock is not a map, it's an entry to one.
