I want to play a game.
Some want to craft. Gamble. Click the orb, click the omen, get lucky. The most popular games in history — and the most popular games in the world — are the latter. Gacha. Farmville. Angry Birds. By corporate metrics, these are the best games ever made. By every other metric, they’re the worst games ever made. To me: they are not even games. What is Path of Exile? The first one — and I was there — was an answer to all that. Challenging to start. Complex. Some minor mechanical skill required. The years watered it down. It was made accessible. And the corporations aren’t wrong: it’s far more profitable to have an "accessible" game. So PoE became that. You run Strand. You run in a straight line. You click once, everything dies. Your damage is automated, and anything more is inefficient. Now we’re on PoE 2. What's different? What exactly are the “good” games now? What’s meaningful in a slot machine? " You've put an awful lot of effort into: a) Telling us what games you think are bad b) Asking a series of open-ended questions about what makes a game good I think it would help frame whatever conversation you are hoping to have if you would give us some examples of games you do think are good. Otherwise I'm not sure where we're supposed to go from here. |

So you want a mechanical, challenging ARPG game like no rest for the wicked?

" This, and I wish more people would say this. Everyone is entitled to play the game that they want. But of course, there are trade offs to be made. No Rest For The Wicked does a great job of what it does. But to pull it off, it laser focuses on melee, even using a stamina bar, it doesn't have a skill tree, and you usually fight about 1 or 3 monsters at a time. There's no point in changing PoE2 to be like NRftW, because NRftW already exists, and other people actually like the current gameplay of PoE2. |

Bruh Farmwille and engry birds is targeted at some close to retirement laddies working accountant jobs clicking mobile phone screen while chatting with her collegue from 3 desks to the left named Brenda or Sharon about how her neighbours nieces dog getting tapeworms. I think ggg understands this game will not attract these kind of audience and its targets are clearly moatly poe 1 players with maybe some newcomers to the genre that dont play poe 1 because its older than 10 year game
