[Feedback] Skeletons vs Spectres - Skeletons Don't Match Up
Experience of a casual player, who has only managed to get 5 divines so far this season.
I've been running a Lich, that was focused on capping plus skills for the Skeleton Archers. I believe to be the best skeleton build of this season. I was running 3 clerics and 16 archers for 5500 dps (each archer), for about 88,000 dps. My archers had plus 10 levels on top of being level 18. For the build I needed, I was pushing the limits of the archers without going into the territory of spending 50+ divines. I had spent around 2 divines in total. I was struggling in the more difficult T15 maps, with tougher bosses and delirium or large density packs. Saw some people in chat discussing the frozen mandible. Decided to look it up. After seeing how crazy those things are. Decided to change my build. In 1 day, spending 3 divines and 2 annuls. I was able to change my build (gaining 1500 energy shield), and just over 100 spirit, and switched to the mandibles. I now sit at 204000 dps, for 6 mandibles. I more than doubled my dps. This also does not include that I have a few other skeletons to add to the dps. So my actual dps is more than 204k, but wanted to show the comparison between archers and mandibles. Now, the archers did have gambleshot, and not sure how the extra hits from pierce, fork, and chain affect dps. So it probably is higher than the 88,000. I will say though, there is a clear and noticeable difference. I'm in no way advocating for frozen mandibles to be nerfed or spectres to be nerfed. In fact, there should be more specter options to compete with frozen mandible. What I'm advocating for, is that right now, skeletons are not where they should be. I've yet to see any good build with the new skeleton brute, skeletons frost mages, or any skeleton build that is competing even with other witch builds or other top builds. They lack the screen clearing and speed of other builds. Last edited by Dominicgetdown#1059 on Sep 27, 2025, 1:19:49 AM Last bumped on Sep 27, 2025, 1:17:45 AM
