0.31 tower change hypes

I don't get the hype around this tower change, some ppl are like OMG GGG YOURE THE BEST THANK YOU I CANT WAIT...

and to me it's like... its still the same old gameplay loop.

youll likely have to carry tablets around with you now...

everytime you run a map youll have to make more clicks to put in tablets.. sounds more tedius to me...

they took away the whole setting things up puzzle + rng for getting that setup
so now it's just more flatlined.

they're making maps less juicable ( which means less currency, which does help address inflation issues, so this is nice ) slower inflations, cool, some will not like that though.

not only will you not be able to juice the maps as much, but those bigger maps will also be smaller, which is might help inflation slow down more? idk, i think theyll just go next sooner, and keep farming but idk how omega juiced things were since i didn't get that far into doing crazy setups with 4 towers etc... but it seems like itll slow down inflation some? hopefully smaller maps = less lag?

umm what else, rares being removed from minimap, while some dind't like 'connecting the dots' when you did it.. it was almost like a map hack, you ran to those mobs, got the loot/exp faster and moved on knowingly leaving some behind, or intentially farming them all. now that its being removed, youll have a lot more ppl skipping over that loot/exp which for the user will slow them down which can suck. but for overall economy, i like because inflation is a problem, that wont go away with these little tweaks.

bossing on maps to clear and moveon.. idk. the problem still remains for me of... hey this map sucks, it's just a travel map, login clear and get closer to where we actually wanna be.

so i guess i just don't see why ppl are so hyped cause how i see it, is more of a nerf across the board in several areas. smaller maps = less mobs = less loot = slower prog, you wont see rares, so youll skip over more exp/items comapred to before this patch coming. youll still have these 'filler' 'travel' maps where you just run them, go straight to boss, kill/repeat.. is that fun? ehh prolly not seems like the boring mandatory mapping. and of course.. the whole new tablets.. before we'd run to a tower, drop 3, move on. but now, you have all these ppl hyping carrying 3 items in their bags, and clicking on them for every.single.map?? I just don't see the hype for it. for me that sounds more tedious and annoying

I'd be more interested in more meaningful endgame changes, mechanics, fixes, removals... y'all still have the grey delirium maps. I've still never met anyone who is head over heels in love with running nothing but laggier/grey ugly maps all day everyday, and yet there they are.. still in the game, hah. cracks me up.

here youre future. map in, tablet 1... tablet 2.... tablet 3... next map tablet 1... tablet 2.... tablet 3.... next map tablet 1.... tablet 2... tablet 3.... this is what ppl are hyping? idk.. to me that's worse... can't say i was crazy about clearing around towers to kinda solve that juicing puzzle, but it had more depth. you had some rng in there too. now it's just braindead flat tablet every map and repeat? ok... i guess.. sounds like some ppl really are hyping it... for what though? i dont know, maybe once it comes and ppl start to point out how the loop actually is, theyll start to change their opinions on if they actually like it or not.

What about you though, are you overly hyped? mildly hyped? did this post point out some red flags you overlooked and maybe your worried i was right and then once it comes youll find out that maybe the old system wasn't as bad ?

for me, im kinda feeling like... carrying 3 tablets all the time will be lame, all the extra clicks will get tedious will get old fast, the removal of rares and just needing boss thing, cool. nothing amazing though... towers are still just eh to me. the problem still is kinda there... which is these filler travel maps. I can already see myself putting in maps, rushing to boss, repeat, ok im 1 map closer 8 more to go.. put in map, run to boss, repeat, ok im 7 maps away... etc etc... so for me this endgame loop is ehh.. seems like theres more filler runs then interesting runs, no? wonder if thatll ever change where theres more interesting runs/choices being made instad of just filler/travel runs... yall cryed about towers so much, that now youll have less rng/puzzles to solve so it seems like those ppl are happier? they say less is more but idk... i felt like we had less and now we have even less.. that's why i'd rather see newer things being added...

whatever. 'gg'

tower change is insane.

You're just not that into Poe2. For us, 0.3.1 is a massive win.
Hardly believable you used to actually regularly run juiced content if you think that having to search for and setup tower overlaps was 'fine'.

Also I don't know what makes you think that you'll have to carry tablets in your inventory. Have you ever used scarabs in poe1? The tablets will remain in the map device UI until depleted, you won't have to micromanage anything, unless for some reason you want to focus on a different mechanic every other map, in which case the problem is self-imposed.

it's basically to remove fear of missing out for the people who saw the overlapping tower effects as the highest priority.. i am also not looking forward to needing to carry an extra item for this.. it'd be nice if you could just use the tablet to add charges then choose them like poe 1 map device or

When i read post like this i wonder how you all "know" that it's gonna be as you describe lol

Who said you'll carry tablets? Where have you read that?

Also tablets will have more power so it's just the same.

And i'm not even like hype or not hype, i liked the towers but also i dont know how it'll be since it's not even live yet.

Many people didnt enjoy having to do a lot of maps to find a good spot. This will fix that. I dont care personaly but why not?

Can't you all just wait and see? And make negativ posts after?

the reason for most players is probably because its a nerf to ultra-juicers and helps the "little guy" that doesn't want to bother hunting towers/investing in crazy tablets/etc. im expecting that it just brings the less informed aligned with the super informed on how to juice properly.

for me, im not a giga-juicer, it was always super annoying to spend so much time running basic 6 mod maps for navigation around the atlas to hit towers to setup correctly. You also burn so much when you're pathing around. This removes the need to path to towers completely because they're mostly useless (extra tablet only).

it will be interesting what happens with the economy as more people will drop more divines even with half baked random quant tabs in 0.3.1.

Same tbh, it's very nice they keep working on it. I was not expecting any big changes until 0.4 and i'm glad they try stuffs.

You don't need to carry tablets. Based on what GGG have done before, I fully expect the tablets to remain in the map device until all the charges get used up. Seems like tablets will have 10 charges. So you'll only need to put in 3 new tablets once every 10 maps which is more than an hour gaming for most.
Tower change is a MASSIVE win for anyone who actually plays endgame. It is a huge, huge, huge step in the right direction towards removing the friction and tedium and allowing us to just enjoy the actual game, finally.
