Omen of whittling vs unrevealed descecrated mods

I have an item with 3 mods + 1 unrevealed abyss mod. I'm trying to whittle one of the 3 mods and keep the unrevealed mod. However, hovering over the item with whittle, it is not highlighting the lowest level of the 3 mods. I'm worried it might remove the unrevealed mod. Can someone help?

If nothing is highlighted, then the unrevealed mod will probably be removed.
Currently, there's a bug where Omen of Whittling doesn't highlight desecrated mods. |
