I got exactly the same issue needed a friend with range who finish him for me...

seems to be a consistent bug, the last three fungus behemoth bosses i've done all teleported to the corner and got stuck

Same thing happening to me. Playing melee and have no way to kill him because of the poison. Fix the game.
