Where Jonathan's vision is wrong.
1- Requiring a 6-mod map, a 3-tablet limit, a single portal limit, and a 10% experience loss. (So, if I may ask you, what do we get in return?) Waystones have no Quantity or Currency drops. Although I don't want to use Poe1 as an example, almost all Waystone Modifiers are almost identical in Poe1 and Poe2 (except for some Mods). Despite all these negative mods, you get Quantity and Currency drops in Poe1, while in Poe2, despite all these negative things, what do we get in return? To be clear, I'm against the two games being the same, but I also advocate that the rewards should increase equally as the game gets harder.
2- The 3-tablet limit should be removed, and we should be able to place 6 tablets. Just like in Poe1. We should be able to increase the number of tablet sockets to 6 by earning achievements from content bosses. 3- It was a good idea to make such a change mid-season to speed up the feedback period for 0.4. (Even though I was very angry at first.) However, the rewarding part of the job is not very satisfying. The Quantity ratio in the tablets is extremely insufficient as it is. The Quantity of the tablets should have been around 12-18, not 4-10. 4- Among the things I think should be included in 0.4: We're getting too many negative effects. If you open the Poedb and compare it to the rates in Poe2db, you'll see many points where the negative effects in Poe2db give you something positive in the game. Then, when you examine the negative buffs in Poe2db, you'll see they don't give you anything at all. (I hope Jonathan opens his drawer and adds Quantity and Currency drops to our Waystones.) 5- We expect maps to be T16 and above. We're burning through so many maps to get T16, and we still don't have a chance of getting a stable T16. 6- We hope you add a favorite map selector or fix maps with poor layouts. Too much physical contact with rocks and wood is causing deaths due to visual blur. 7- We're losing maps due to FPS drops, lag, and connection issues. 8-There is too much visual clutter (You need to be able to look your enemy in the eyes for a meaningful fight). Smoke, fog, DOT left on the ground by an enemy you cannot see, a meaningless Stun makes the fight meaningless. 9- Ailment stacking accounts for 80% of deaths this season (Abyss monsters' abilities are especially flawed). 10- Charms: We've written about this many times, and they're inadequate. Okay, you don't want it to be like the flask system in Poe1, but even if it provides us with two-quarters of the benefits of flasks, it's still sufficient. And it's almost 0.4, but we can still equip three. 11- The passive tree is still very sketchy. There's not enough Life. Life isn't exclusive to the warrior; it should be in the intermediate nodes on all four sides of the passive tree. Movement speed should also be on all four sides of the passive tree. These are specific abilities. The same goes for Energy Shield, Evasion, and Deflect. There are armors that provide these, but the points needed to scale them aren't on all four sides of the passive tree. 12- I don't know if this is due to the drop rates of the new orbs, but they don't seem to have any impact on the market or have any value. While Perfect Jewellery orb drops, like Regal orbs, are a good thing for new players, they lack market value. I argue that some currency drop rates should be increased, while others should be decreased. 13- Atlas Tree.. Again Atlas Tree.. It's very, very, very inadequate. We can't juice the content enough. Enough. There are no points for Pack Size, Quantity, Rarity, or content buffs. I don't know if you've tried it, but there's over a 100% guarantee that even if you buy Rogue Exile, it doesn't spawn on the map. We encountered it on about 3 of my 10 maps. (I'm starting to think maybe it didn't like my maps =). Some bosses this season aren't easy, but they don't feel rewarding enough. I hope you check out the boss drops. 14- The idea of a boss on every map is all well and good, but what's the point if it doesn't drop anything other than the map? I've only seen divine orbs drop from bosses in two of my 30 maps. The only other drops are 4 exalted orbs and a vaal orb... I think you should check it out. 15- If the Abyss mechanic is going to be permanent in 0.4, some animation times need to be shortened. Fighting the Abyss boss again requires a lot of effort and takes a lot of time... The animations for entering and exiting the Abyssal depths also need to be shortened a bit... Of course, removing the buffs and shrines we received upon entering the Abyss isn't nice either. Additionally, the fact that the Map mode doesn't work while the Abyssal is dephed naturally hinders the rewarding aspect of the content... (And most importantly, having to constantly teleport to desecrate is a real shame. Could you add the Abyss crafting system to our hideout?) 16- Detailed graphics settings: This isn't an excuse, a request, or a suggestion. It's a necessity. Even if I could make the grass so bad that I could see it pixel by pixel, I'd rather do that than experience FPS drops or freeze and die. We need new graphics settings so we can lower the graphics settings to the lowest possible settings. 17- Client crashes are still occurring. Crashes are also occurring when opening chests and clicking on Shrine towers. These are just a few, and they require further monitoring. 18- Having too many unique items in the game doesn't mean it's a good system. There are still too many unused unique items in the game that need reworking. It needs fixing... 19- Recombinator: Can someone please fix this guy before 0.4? The odds he gives would give even a blind man 500 reasons not to approach this machine. Sometimes I wonder if you're doing this to make us use it or to scare us. :D 20-I usually level up a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 4 characters each season to test out different classes. This season, I leveled 1 Witch, 1 Monk, 1 Ranger, and 1 Ritualist, and brought them to the end game. While playing the Acts isn't as tedious as the first two characters, trying out more than two characters can get a bit overwhelming (it makes me want to scream). Please do something about the story sections for characters beyond 1 or 2. 21- Basically, mechanics like Dodge-Parry-Combo are the cornerstones of RPG games. While adapting them to ARPGs seems feasible, the way they're implemented determines the fine line between success and failure. Trying to block a single hit with a timed parry against 50 monsters (it feels like an ostrich trying to hide by burying its head in the sand while surrounded by lions). If the parry is an area-of-effect combo (Jonathan's meaningful fight becomes meaningful), progressing in an attack > counter-attack order makes the fight meaningful. (However, there are many skill-breaking monsters (for example, wild boars) that trap you in a loop with every nose strike, and you can do nothing but watch your death without any sense of humor. (Or you've all encountered that guy with the shield.) You throw something at him, and he starts firing a projectile chain that hits his shield and deals chaos damage. (Or a Sun priest.) Dude, this monster can still kill you from somewhere on the corrupted map. And a bunch of corrupted monsters like this can make your fight meaningless. I like some of your points, others not as many. Particularly the boss drops.
I get it, but GGG has never been big on guaranteed loot. And 99/100 times the boss is useless in POE 1, its just there to complete the map. The bosses never drop anything in general unless they are target farmed for specific drops, usually ubers and such. BUT... this is the norm, and expected. Bosses don't drop mirrors, random low level white mobs do. |
