Corrupted Nexus Cleansed No Atlas Points Reward Bug

Note I am playing in a 2 player party but I've seen this type of bug reports by solo players. I've seen other reports of this corrupted nexus reset on death bug but haven't seen any official response on if this is an intended game mechanic or a bug, so here's my bug report.

A few days ago we attempted a Corrupted Nexus boss fight but died on my first attempt due to a wipe mechanic. We resurrected and win on the second attempt but the 2nd phase with a corrupted boss does not spawn. Instead the cleansed message appears the the map is marked completed. But I did not get any Atlas points reward or have the corruption source quest completed.

After going to 3 towers, I finally managed to find a second Corrupted Nexus on the opposite side of the map. Unfortunately we died again on the first boss fight attempt and respawn. We win on the second attempt but again no 2nd phase corrupted boss spawn, the cleanse message appears, the map is completed, and I do not get any Atlas points reward or have the corruption quest completed.

It seems there is a bug with the corrupted nexus map when dying. The map is kind of reset and loses the corrupted boss 2nd phase and there is no Atlas points reward or corruption source quest completion even though the map is marked as completed and the area is cleansed.

I've search the around the fog on my map but don't see any signs of corruption terrain or signs of blood rising to mark another corrupted nexus. I'm going to have to search around again in towers trying find a 3rd corrupted nexus...I'm not looking forward to having to do this again without any Atlas points to help drop waystones.

I have zero Atlas points.

I did not get any Atlas point rewards after completing the two corrupted nexus maps so far.

If you are at Zero points then it's indeed a bug.

Either a bug that you gain no points or a bug that you can re attempt the failed nexus. I know it's EA state but with these amount of bugs GGG need to work faster TBH.

I agree this does seem like a bad bug.

It's becoming more difficult to continue mapping without any Atlas points because sometimes there are no waystone drops. I have to buy waystones to continue or get to higher tiers.
