Where's the Mercy Hitpoint?

Having one-shot protection (mercy hitpoint) is an action game staple, and with PoE 2 clearly wanting (correctly) to be more of an action game, the omission of it is glaring.

POE would definitely benefit from OSP (one-shot protection).

There are ways to implement OSP so it can't be cheesed by players to become invulnerable. What I've seen work is this:

1) When a hit exceeds your available health pool OSP kicks in and prevents the death. You're brought down to 1 HP and are invulnerable for about 1 second.

2) OSP has a 30 second cool down. Any hits that exceed your health pool during that 30 seconds will kill you.

3) If you are taking any kind of DoT then OSP will not save you unless you get lucky and the DoT stops applying damage in your 1 second invulnerability window. This would be extremely rare in practice so OSP would not protect against DoT.

OSP should also be ignored if the hit is coming from a red flash attack from a boss, because you're meant to dodge those. OSP allowing you to eat them would kill their entire purpose.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Agreed.

On a side note: I wish there were more red attacks. Most of them are very well telegraphed and make the fights more fun.
