Awakened Elemental focus lvl 6 in archdemon crown and gemcraft runegraft not giving +1 gem

i have an awakened elemental focus level 6 socketed into an archdemon crown and a rune graft of gemcraft. the elemental focus hover says it should give +1 gem levels to supported elemental skills and that it's level 5 (level 6 -2 from crown +1 from global modifiers) but neither blast rain of trarthus or cofilgration get the + 1 levels they are supposed to.

The damage goes up from awakened elemental focus level 5, but only from the having 39% more damage as opposed to 38% more damage. the +1 level is not applying like it does when linked on other times and the supported skill hover does not say +1 level from support.

I am experiencing this too.
