Hinekora, Death's Fury interaction with Ancestral Bond
|
Chieftain ascendancy node Hinekora, Death's Fury: "Enemies you or your Totems Kill have 5% chance to Explode, dealing 500% of their maximum Life as Fire Damage"
If totem kills with hit damage, explosion will occur and deal damage. If totem kills with dot damage (which counts as player kill) the explosion will NOT do damage Even the explosion when the totem gets kill credit is weak "Note: like other non-skill explosions from proxies, when this explosion is caused by a totem, it will not have the player's offensive stats." I just want Hinekora's to work with dot damage totems and also do damage based off player stats if possible. Last bumped on Nov 22, 2025, 1:11:46 PM

If it wasn't obvious in the title this is only while Ancestral Bond is allocated.
Ancestral Bond states: "You can't deal Damage with Skills yourself" In this case the the explosion damage from Hinekora is usually stopped by having Ancestral Bond allocated. BUT, the Chieftain ascendancy should circumvent that, but only partly. |

You seem to understand why it works this way. So I'm not sure what you are reporting exactly, the DoT kill attribution thing? While it has acknowledged to be unintentinal, it's been in the game since forever and there's no sign it will ever get fixed.
If that's a suggestion (which is posted in bug reports), the issue is global and GGG won't fix one particular interaction on demand. Maybe if Hinekora can't work the way it should, it makes sense to suggest reworking it. |

"The Hinekora, Death's Fury Chieftain Ascendancy Passive Skill now causes Enemies you or your Totems Kill to have a 5% chance to Explode, dealing 500% of their maximum Life as Fire Damage (previously just Enemies you Kill)." So they changed the wording to be specifically you OR your totems kill. Why would they make it work with totems but not work(partly) while having ancestral bond? Why would they make the damage based off totem stats instead of player stats? |
