Mapping feels like a punishment, not a game

You can argue anything you want by going into the design of it and the usual yapping:


1- You can barely zoom out - therefore my ability to seek for citadels is shy of null
2- The citadel beams are only visible if you reveal its vicinity on the map, with a tower - I do not remember this on previous leagues, I used to look for beams in the mist - now I only see them in the mist if I reveal the area in its proximity - very stupid if you ask me
3- You have to do several screens of maps to even have a chance to see if a citadel is around - so we are "blind" searching

Leagues are 4 months, not 4 years - At least I should be able to travel in a direction I know will take me to a citadel - not wander around blindly, at the mercy of randomness. what is your problem? Honestly

The grand project helps - but is expensive and scarce

This is not mapping.

This is the terrible atlas mechanic that no one likes.

Everyone who plays agrees with you.

There are people who do not play POE2, but will take a single look and will immediately agree with you.

If you think it's bad now, it's a good thing you didn't try to find citadels before the update. It's at least a million times easier now to find them.

In the first version, there were no lights in the mist. I would like to have markers for them as we have for home and other interest points. And even for unique maps too.

Yeah, that is something they have to improve. Also the performance of atlas loading.

A search engine for atlas nodes would be appreciated too.

That's unfortunately not true for alot of people.

GGG introduced a widespread bug where the light pillars only show when u already discovered the citadel on the atlas. So it's basically the same as it was in 0.1 except u have a shiny light on ur already explored citadel.

The same is true for corrupted zones btw., they don't show in the mist aswell.
