Idea for the dodge/roll system

Hi GGG,

I’d like to give feedback on the current universal manual dodge system in Path of Exile 2.

Right now, every class — heavy, medium, and light — is forced into the exact same dodge mechanic. This reduces the uniqueness of classes and makes their fantasy feel identical, because the core of gameplay becomes “roll or die,” regardless of whether you’re a fragile ranger or a heavily armored warrior with a two-handed hammer.

A possible improvement would be a class-dependent dodge system, such as:

Heavy classes: “Bracing” or “body-block” instead of dodge (damage reduction / hyper armor instead of i-frames)

Medium classes: short step-dodges with partial evasion

Light classes: full dodge / full i-frames

This would preserve class identity and make the combat feel more natural and thematic. Heavy builds wouldn’t be forced to perform agile ninja dodges, and light builds would still rely on mobility for survival.

I believe this change would strengthen the uniqueness of each class and make the gameplay feel more coherent and less repetitive.

Thanks for considering the suggestion!

I am really not sure what you mean by "heavy" classes.

It seems to me that we are not playing the same game.

In this game, if you haven't noticed we have absolute freedom to play everything with any skill we want.

Also, dodge allows you to prevent one shot mechanics. In a boss fight you use it to do the mechanics.

If you think that you can "brace" for arbiter's wipe, you should try it to see how it goes.

This is not improvement in any way.
