Totems and charges - not optimal

I personally love totems, and being able to use a skill of my choosing on a totem is the most fun. Having totems be on a charge basis, means i have to play something else, to play the skill i want to play? I dont need to be a 1 button build, but i would like to play totems as my main skill, but how do i start killing monsters if i cant place the totems?

My issue is that i need to use other active skill gems to get my build going.

What would be ideal, a battleshout that generated charges? someway of me getting charges before killing, giving me buttons to gain charges without having to attack, or simply make the totems not cost charges. It was introduced to ancestral warrior totem, but it kinda ruined alot of builds, and from what i can see its not played very much, and continuing this will be a spoiled oppotunity for a some real cool builds for the people who love totems.

All I could do was laugh after I saw it required charges lol They really don't want you to play POE 2 how you want. Guardrails everywhere

I thought the same but the showcase said the bear generates endurance charges upon spending rage. maul grants rage even without supports and spending rage seems to be the bears bread and butter.

Might not be able to set them down before a boss spawns but im still optimistic about them.
