Frenzy charge generation on single target bosses is incredibly clunky in PoE2.

Hello, I’ve been experimenting with Twister + Barrage + Frenzy charges, and I’ve realized how unreliable and clunky Frenzy charge generation is on single-target bosses. If you’re not a Deadeye using the automated mark Called Shots passive, it’s clunky, breaks the rythm of gameplay, costs way too much in terms of passives or spirit or something else making it a huge pain.
The only “reliable” method is Sniper’s Mark, which gives you a charge on crit—but then immediately consumes the charge for some reason, so you have to recast the mark every couple senconds. It feels awful. The other way is through Combat frenzy which gives One charge every time you freeze, pin or electrocute the enemy no more then every 7 seconds which is just aweful, clunky and, for the most part cannot be relied upon. The other option is parrying, which is insanely risky because tons of boss attacks either can’t be parried or will one-shot you. And after you finally parry, you still have to use Disengage or Cull of the Weak + Frenzied Riposte giving one single charge, consuming the parry debuff in the process. After that, you’re basically praying for 30–40% RNG from a couple passives and Charge Profusion to get more charges. The last method is breaking armor with Break Armour III for a 20% chance at an Endurance charge, then converting that to a Frenzy charge through Resonance, and then consuming the armor break to repeat the process. It works, but it’s absurdly convoluted. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give advice how to fix this but this is obviously way to convoluted for some as simple as getting a charge in order to be able to ues Twister to its fully potential. My assumption would be that you try to focus your gameplay exclusively on that twister + barrage combo and do not play something else in between.
That then feels understandibly clunky to you, because instead of generating frenzy charges during normal combat - using other skills - you try to exclusively focus on that one skill combo. Combat frenzy would give you passively charges without you having to make an effort to get them. Parrying easily gives you some charges - just parry if there is an opportunity and do normal combat in between. With some experience it feels safe and reliable to use. So my advice for you to try out would be to choose some single target dps skills you enjoy and use the twister + barrage combo as pay-off when having generated enough frenzy charges, but don't be overly focused on it. You can also combine it with whirlwind and elemental surfaces for more damage. |

Try Spearfield with Knockback support gem and Armour break. Then combine it with Caltrops spirit gem and Exploit Weakness support gem. You'll like it.

people just accepting this is how poe2 is supposed to be upset me.
just fix this. I dont know why they made it so cast on crit doesnt work with snipers mark.
