Volcano Skill not being able to socket in Fire Spell on Hit

The Volcano spell is unable to be place in the Fire Spell on Hit, a skill of smith of kitava.

I was also planning on using this as well. :(
I am guessing its because Volcano is a Channeling spell technically but the verbiage doesn't specify anything about not being able to use it on Fire Spell on Hit. |

" Fire Spell on Hit cant use channeling, but Volcano is not by default a channeling spell, it CAN be use like one, but it isnt necessary, that means that it should be possible to use with meta skills like Fire Spell on Hit. |

I hope they change this. Feels like volcano was only made a channel to screw over Cast on X builds

Channelling-only spells are obviously not working, but Volcano just seems to have been caught in this restriction too, despite doing something initially.
