I killed a beast and didn't get 2 points, but the map was over. The game was closed for a technical break. After logging in, the problem was still not resolved.

I also have the same problem. At first I killed it but it didn't get marked on the map as complete. Then I left the area and it was marked complete but never dropped the skill book

According To Reddit, this reward has been moved to Kedge Bay. You get the tome after talking with Tujen at the end of the quest
